Our Story

UNIHOC was founded already in 1972 in Mölndal, Sweden, by the floorball missionary Carl-Åke Ahlqvist. Some years earlier, he launched floorball in Sweden by importing plastic hockey sticks for indoor playing.

This way, floorball and UNIHOC have been growing side by side, making us the first and still existing floorball brand in the world. Our knowledge of the history of the sport is important and valuable for us in our daily work, and the ground stone for how we are planning ahead for the future.

Today, UNIHOC is the world leading manufacturer of floorball equipment, and the products are exported and sold to customers in more than 70 countries around the globe.

Products like the first Kevlar shaft, the successful Player and Unilite blades, the Curve shaft and the lightweight Carbskin shafts have set new standards in the floorball business, and we are continuing to provide the market with new inventions every year.

UNIHOC’s headquarters is located in Mölnlycke, just outside Gothenburg, where we’ve built a dynamic hub encompassing everything from product development and design to marketing and a modern warehouse that annually distributes hundreds of thousands of floorball sticks worldwide.

The company has sales offices in Chur and Lucerne (Switzerland), Greven (Germany), Helsinki (Finland), and Stockholm. Our goal in the coming years is to increase global awareness of floorball, helping it become an Olympic sport. We firmly believe this is achievable, and it drives our daily work to keep developing innovative, high-quality products with a focus on design and technical advancement.
